    His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Eastern Region speaking at the Logistics Integration Forum 2024.

    His Excellency Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir, Secretary-General of the Eastern Region, is participating in the Logistics Integration Forum 2024 organized by the Asharqia Chamber under the patronage and auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Prince of the Eastern Province, on Monday, April 29, 2024. Also, in attendance is His Excellency Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, at the Chamber's headquarters.

    Rakan bin Abdulrahman Al-Otaishan, The Chairman of the Chamber's Logistics Committee, emphasized that the participation of His Excellency the Secretary-General comes within the framework of affirming the partnership between municipal services and the logistics sector to coordinate in planning the city's infrastructure, organizing public transportation, storage, and logistics service areas. This contributes to achieving sustainable development and maintaining the quality of life in the city. Municipalities and the logistics sector cooperate to achieve common goals aimed at improving transportation and distribution operations inside and outside cities to enhance transportation efficiency and services for markets, industrial areas, and consumers.

    Al-Otaishan stated that the forum, through three sessions, will review the role of government entities in achieving logistics integration, logistics zones in the Eastern Province and the main challenges with relevant entities, and investment opportunities in logistics and economic zones. He noted that the forum serves as a platform for experts and professionals in the logistics field to communicate with officials from relevant authorities involved in sector development, to review innovations, identify best practices, and solutions in the sector.

    Al-Otaishan also pointed out that the logistics sector in the Kingdom continues to achieve milestones, with efforts ongoing to automate many procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in logistics operations management, enhance inventory management systems to achieve a balance between material availability and inventory costs, and improve transportation and distribution operations through the use of smart routing technologies. This advances work mechanisms and proceeds within plans to incentivize investors to invest in an organized and advanced sector.
